Assoc Prof. Ying Xu is the Distinguished Guoqiang Associate Professor in the Department of Building Science at Tsinghua University, China. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech and previously held a tenured faculty position as Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research centers on indoor environmental pollution and control, with particular emphasis on pollutant emissions and transport, human exposure and health impacts, and the development of innovative sensing and control technologies. She also extends her expertise to the field of cultural heritage conservation. Dr. Xu served as President of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ) from 2020 to 2024 and currently contributes as a Basel Convention Expert for the United Nations. She is an Associate Editor for both the Journal of Exposure Science & Environmental Epidemiology and National Science Open. With nearly 60 peer-reviewed publications, several recognized as best papers in Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Health Perspectives, she has also delivered plenary lectures at major international conferences. Her work has been widely covered by outlets such as the Daily Mail, Fox News, and the U.S. NSF homepage. Dr. Xu’s contributions have earned her numerous prestigious honors, including the ISIAQ Yaglou Award, the NSF CAREER Award, the ASHRAE New Investigator Award, and multiple Best Paper Awards from leading international conferences.
