Dr. Caroline Barakat is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University, Canada. Her expertise lies in environmental health, with a strong focus on reducing toxic exposures and endocrine-disrupting chemicals to protect vulnerable populations. She has led interdisciplinary research exploring the impact of environmental contaminants on human health across the life course, addressing both biological mechanisms and the social factors that shape exposure. Her recent studies examine exposures to parabens and volatile organic compounds and their implications for population health. She also engages in applied research to promote the use of scent-free products as a practical approach for minimizing harmful chemical exposures in daily life.
