Dr. Chen received his doctoral degree from Stockholm University in 2014. He continued his postdoc training at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley. In September 2018, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where he is now an associate professor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. He has applied for more than 30 patents and published around 160 peer-reviewed papers with an h-index of 59 and more than 12000 Google Scholar citations. He serves as an associate editor of Environmental Chemistry Letters and a board member of several academic journals. Dr. Hong Chen has been honored as a Stanford-ranked World's Top 2% Scientist, his received many awards include ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering Lectureship Award, Youth Environmental Chemistry Award of Chinese Chemical Society, Young Scientist Award of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Outstanding Youth Contribution Award in Circular Economy Technology Innovation of China Nonferrous Metals Society, Gold Medal of Youth Science & Technology Award of Guangdong Society for Environmental Sciences.
